Why isn't it easier?
Why is it so much easier to gain weight than it is to loose it. No really I got complacent and a little depressed. I stopped caring about my weight feeling like no one was looking at me anyway and I gained twenty pounds. Now that I'm feeling more positive and back to caring how I look I have to try and loose the weight to get that bikini bod I've always wanted.
When I gained weight I didn't do much, went to work, came home ate and watched tv, ate some more. I'm definitely a snacker, I love food. Even as a little child I would sometimes eat when not hungry because I liked the taste of the food. My mom was always telling me to eat less. "Look at me, be like me not your dad" my mom has always been concerned about not getting too big. At one point when my mom was a teenager she ate onion every time she got hungry, she used it as a appetite suppressant and it worked it got to the point that she wanted to throw up whenever she even thought of food. My dad tells me she didn't like to eat when she was pregnant with me so that she wouldn't get fat. I weighed 4 pound 5 ounces when I was born, which isn't too bad. The average weight is six to nine but at least I was healthy. I am after all still here. Back when my mom would tell me to be like her I would roll my eyes, I didn't want to scale down my portions. I guess someone has talked to y mom about weight being a touchy matter because now she tells me I am beautiful as I am but she wants me to loose weight for my health. She has been telling me horror stories about diabetes. I am not that big, I'm not obecesse still when she tells me these things I get worried.
I guess I want to loose weight now partly for my health and partly for my bikini bod that I dream of. I drank smoothies for breakfast for a week. I have stopped eating out, I was big on eating out. I think I ate out most of the week. I have stopped drinking soda, I think I haven't had one for about two weeks. I have even attempted to start walking more. The Thursday before last I even went hiking at Runyon Canyon. This Thursday I am suppose to go again, I think I'll try to catch a free yoga class too. They have free yoga classes three times a day pretty much everyday. Anyway the point is the weight isn't just melting off like it just packed on. Why is this so, why is the world so unfair?
Sigh I guess I'll just have to keep working on the bikini bod I am determined not to go back to all my bad eating habits this time. Soon I hope to have this body.

My Addiction
I have become addicted to the 99c store. If you read my first blog you know that I don't drive.
That means I have to the bus home from work and the bus I usually take drops me off right by the 99c store.
I try to resist but I can't help my curiosity, everything is 99c after all. I find myself going in and always picking up a few items here and there. Somehow I end up spending $10-$20 each time I go in. I always find something I need if not food then something for the house to organize or decorate. They even have some craft stuff. It's irisistable. I don't think i'll be getting rid of this addiction any time soon.

No Food Blog
There is something about the art of making pupusas that is beyond my grasp.
In case you don't know what they are. It's a El Salvadorian dish. They're are like stuffed totillas.
My fav are the kind stuffed with beans and cheese.
My mom knows how to make them, when I was making them with her they came out great when
I tried to make them by myself disaster, heavy on the dis. They somehow ended up drying out and not cooking on all parts. I don't understand what happened, I really thought I knew how to make them.
Alas I am not a natural in the kitchen.
Want to know what else happened this week? I burnt water. I was making tea. I was boiling it in a pot because my boo thinks it taste better that way and I forgot about it and all the water evaporated. The place smelled like burnt tea. Who knew that could happen? And this happened twice!
I know one thing for sure I will not be writing a food blog.

New Buffy Movie No Fangs?
A new Buffy movie? Am I the last to hear about this?
As you may have heard Warner Bros. is working on a new Buffy movie they're hoping will come out 2012.
Don't expect it to be too much like the show. This new movie was not written by Josh Whendon, in fact Josh isn't involved at all. Instead this movie was written by Whit Anderson.
Anderson has said that she was a big fan of the show she has acknowledge that some fans will be skeptical because of Josh's non involvement. I'm glad she knows it will be a rocky road since some Buffy fans are outraged Protest sites have popped up on the internet. The truth is you can't blame them Josh Whendon is an Oscar nominated writer whereas Whit has no commercial writing experience. Another reason to be skeptical buffy friends from the show will not be in the movie. Warner Bros optioned the rights from movie creators Fran and Kaz Kuzui, but the characters from the show belong to Josh.
Fans aren't the only ones who are skeptical former Buffy cast members are also skeptical. Eliza Dushku (‘Faith’) had this to say “Joss [Whedon] made the Buffster [and without] him… I just don’t trust the girl. Or the world.”
Anthony Stewart Head (Giles)said this “The bottom line is if a movie was ever to be made, it should be made with Joss Whedon, whether it’s a retrospective or not. But it would be madness to do it without him. [The Kazuis] have the rights to because they have the rights to the original movie, but it should be interesting to see. It may be a bit like watching a car wreck.”
Josh himself has admitted to having mixed feelings about the upcoming movie when questioned about it. In his email response to E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos he had this to say:
"I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I'm making a Batman movie. Because there's a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you.
Leave me to my pain! Sincerely, Joss Whedon."
I myself agree with Anthony Stewart Head this movie should not have been made without Josh. I was shocked about when a co-worker informed me that they were making a new Buffy movie without josh. My first reaction: What????
I had actually hoped they would make a Buffy movie but not without Josh and not without Sarah Michelle Gellar. What will happen to the Buffy wit we've all known and loved? Much like with the new Spiderman remake it's too soon and not wanted. This is a cult classic not Batman and robin the movie.

Dancing with the Stars
It's that time again. Dancing with the Stars starts up in September. People are buzzing about it. There's all kinds of speculation on TV and in magazines. At the little store where I work we have a special reason to think about this upcoming season. We provide the shoes for the show just like we provide shoes for Glee, Broadway shows (Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages, The Book of Mormon, Spiderman) and occassinaly movies (Burlesque, Nine) .

To be honest I only started watching last year but once I started watching I was hooked. The show is new to me so everything is still fresh and interesting and I can't wait to see who is on this year or who will come into the store. A perk about working at WORLDTONE (used to be a record store) is sometimes you get to meet a celebrity. I doubt Brad Pitt will ever go in but recently Katie Cruz went in with daughter Suri. Suri is taking dance they've been to our NY store and a few weeks ago they visited the LA store. The next day there were articles about it.
Most of those people did pretty well I think we may be a good luck charm. I bet the next winner will be in the store this August.
